As the founding designer, I shipped the 0-1 design of managing subscriptions and customers, usage tracking, and configuring new orders.
Impact
The new platform was launched in 2022 used by around roughly 4,000 Cloud Provider Partners (CSPs) globally.
CONFIGURATOR
VMware relies on partners, resellers and distributors, to sell SaaS offerings to end users. To kick off the process, partners need to get a pricing quote from VMware.

Configurator is a price estimator tool for VMware partners to configure end customers' orders and view quote price to sell VMware products. However, the outdated design causes inefficiency.
~200 Products are not easy to find.
Quote price isn't prorated and it's inaccurate.
Solution
Small steps with clear information. I broke down the lengthy configuring process into small steps including order setting, base offer, and review order.
Lock the price by creating a quote. Partners can communicate the price with customers before the quote expires within 30 days.
SUBSCRIPTION
The subscription page is outdated and overwhelming with unorganized information. The transaction history was separated from this page. So partners have to spend extra time looking for specific information.
Solution
Modularize the subscription page and declutter UI. The new experience emphasized the offer details while keeping the important term and customer info on the side for quick reference and a transaction tab.
